Miriam, prophetess and sister of Aaron and Moses, was the first to show us how to celebrate and worship Yaweh by picking up her tambourine and leading the women in dance. This unique class is for women who want to follow her lead and learn how to worship through movement and the creative arts. This is a great class for mothers and older daughters to take together or for any woman regardless of age or physical ability. Those wishing to have a safe, private place to receive instruction as well as experiment with movement and worship tools, please join us to follow after ’s Way! Performance not required.
Spiritual Significance of the color Orange: Represents the refining, purifying fire of God and the working of the Holy Spirit.
As we mature in faith, the Holy Spirit purifies our lives, getting rid of the ungodliness and making us more like Christ; filled with and led by the Holy Spirit, we minister with the anointing of God.
Team Verse:
“He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver; he will purify the Levites and refine them like gold and silver. Then the LORD will have men who will bring offerings in righteousness, and the offerings of Judah and Jerusalem will be acceptable to the LORD.” Malachi 3:3-4
Class Expectations:
- Bible study
- Introduce and work on beginner and intermediate ballet syllabi
- Explore creative worship tools, group movement, interpretive movement, sign language
- Learn the “how” and “why” to enhance personal and corporate worship experiences
- May participate in RDC spring program (participation not required)
- Intermediate to more advanced dancers will be invited to participate in one performance piece for the spring ministry performance.
Class Info:
Dress Code: (at dancer’s expense)
- Black sleeved leotard (no tanks or camisoles)
- Black opaque skirt (no sheer) or black pant (mid-thigh or longer)
- Pink tights (available at the RDC studio for appropriate color)
- Pink ballet slippers for girls, black for boys (available at Standing Ovation)
- Optional: orange tank top over leotard
